Clients want 2004 prices in a 2025 economy. That’s why so many trades are leaving.

In 2004, a labourer earned 4x minimum wage. In 2025, it’s barely 2x. That’s why sites can’t keep trades.

£250/day sounds decent for a chippy… until you do the maths. After costs & tax, it’s closer to £21k take-home. Still think it’s expensive?

I think someone is more interested in looking at birds then helping in the shop today....
