Worcester’s National Night Out is just around the corner! Join us for food trucks, bounce houses, obstacle courses, a live DJ, a touch-a-truck area, comfort dogs, horse rides starting at 6pm, entertainment and many community tables. We hope you can come out on August 5th!

The WPD is asking for the public’s assistance in finding 74-year-old Alice De Moura. She has Alzheimer’s and was last seen on Tampa Street around 7:15 tonight. She was last seen wearing a black pajama top and black pajama bottoms. If you see her, call 911 or 508-799-8606.

Members of Academy Class 01-25 received certificates for taking part in DEI training today. WPD Chief Paul Saucier, City Manager Eric Batista and Mayor Joe Petty were among the officials on hand for the ceremony.

the sidewalk and immediately began to render aid. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. WPD officers placed a 26-year-old male suspect under arrest. The CSU processed the firearm. This incident is under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

WPD OFFICERS ARREST MALE IN CONNECTION WITH FATAL SHOOTING ON SOUTHGATE STREET. On June 21, 2025 at approximately 7:40 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to multiple calls for shots fired on Southgate Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim lying on.
