I just ran 100 miles in 29 hrs.
4 years ago when I was 340 lbs I struggled to run 1 mile
No motivational video is going to get you where you want to be in life.
You have to find the internal fortitude, and figure out your “WHY” in life.
Create something with yourself
Yes. I used to weigh 340 lbs and now I weigh 195 lbs.
This is a 4 year difference
However
I’m my biggest critique and I see flaws in everything I do, never truly satisfied in anything, But learning to proud of myself and how far I’ve came and what I’ve accomplished.
I don’t post this to wow me, I post this to give someone a glimmer of hope. That whatever your working towards is possible. Keeping pushing forward each day and fighting the good fight.
It’s progress not perfection.
Just remember if another human can do it, you can too!
I recently got asked why I post so many shirtless pictures? Well my friend, if you used to weigh 350 lbs and was ashamed of your body every-time you looked in the mirror or put on a 4XL shirt.
And now you weigh 174 lbs and beyond proud of the body you’ve created and the work
3 years ago today. I decided I wanted to change my life and create something worth living for.
150 lbs later, I’m now a US Army Paratrooper / Air Assault and Ultra Runner.
Your the only person that can make a change in your life. Don’t wait. Start now!
I’ve created another human being. The person on the left is buried.
I went through so many lows to get where I’m at now. There is no void in my life. I’ve figured out who I really am, by putting my self through dark times
No podcast or book will get you to figure yourself out.
I was prompted to Sergeant on August 1st.
However, today I officially earned my stripes. I graduated from the Basic Leaders Course (BLC). Finished with a 3.85 GPA and the fastest 2 mile run in my class. ☑️
Awesome experience, learned a ton and met some tremendous people.
Crossing the finish line to complete my 50 mile race, was one of the proudest moments of my life.
All the long runs, cold mornings, injuries, therapy sessions, every workout, was for this very moment.
And What a moment it was.
What an unreal experience
100 miles complete ☑️
Been working for and thinking about this day with every run I went on for the past year and today I saw my hard work pay off and my goals turned into reality.
Ultra Marathon

Huge 25 Min PR ☑️
31.07 Miles. 10:29 Pace. 5:25 Total Time
I truly love this. There is nothing better.
Incredibly excited about this PR and grateful for my health, that I’m able to go out there and RUN. It’s a blessing.
My story
Former 340 LB college football player
Graduated from college.
Didn’t have a plan after college, overweight.
Lost over 140 lbs in 5 months
Now I’m a U.S Army Paratrooper, jumping out of airplanes 🇺🇸
Ran 1 Marathon, now Training for a Ultra
Anything is possible.
Tomorrow I embark on my 100 mile run.
A race I have been thinking about ever since I start ultra running over a year ago and has consumed my life ever since.
Thank you all for the continued support!
See y’all on the flip side.
Every race I write this on my hand.
“I GET TO RUN”
I usually end most of my tweets with “GRATEFUL” because being alive, being able to RUN, is truly a gift, a blessing, a privilege . It’s not guaranteed.
IM GRATEFUL for every second I’m on this earth and every RUN.
A Transformation of my body
2019- (340 lbs)
2021- (195 lbs)
2023 currently - (185 lbs)
Results don’t happen overnight. You must be patient and deliberate with everything you do, to get where you truly wanna be.
Being Consistent day in and out will lead you to success. ☑️
Crossing the finish line of my 100 miler will be a moment I’ll never forget.
All the ups and downs, injuries, early morning runs and everything else, all made it worth it yesterday.
Believe in yourself, set big goals, and work relentlessly until you achieve them.
6 Hr Ultra is complete. 32 miles / 10:52 Pace. Top 3 Finish out of 60 other Runners.
My 5th Ultra Marathon and my first Podium finish. I’m so pumped up! My training has never been better and it paid off today. Extremely grateful for my health and to be able to run and do what I
A thread of my journey from 340 lbs to a US Army Paratrooper and Ultra Runner: 🔽🔽🔽
3 years ago today, I was 340 lbs and had no vision or purpose in my life. Truly going through the motions of life , pathetic and not truly living
Circa February 2020 and March 2023
Huge shout out to my amazing woman for being there all 29 hrs and crewing me the entire time and even paced me for 15 miles!
You saw the ups and downs in my life and in training for this and couldn’t imagine anyone else being there with me when I struck gold and hit 100 miles.
I don’t drink so I can’t give a toast to my father who I lost 13 years ago to the day on 7/21/11.
However, I can RUN 7.21 miles. So this is my toast.
This one was for you.
GRATEFUL
Woke up @ 174 lbs this morning. The lightest I’ve ever been.
Crazy to think I used to be 350 lbs less than 3.5 years ago.
Feeling the best I’ve ever felt physically and mentally.
Losing weight was the best decision of my life and has transformed it in so many ways.
Take
From being 340 lbs to not being able to run 1 mile
To running my first 5k
To running my first Ultra
Then ultimately running my first 100 miler
Thank you running for making me a better man, changing my life, and providing with so many opportunities.
Run More 👊🏻
Went to purchase some new clothes.
And I officially wear a size Small in about everything and a 28-30 pant size.
Never would believe 3 years ago I was a size XXXL and 48-52 pant size.
Your current situation isn’t permanent. Keep working. 👊🏻
Since my completing my 5th Ultra Marathon and coming in 3rd place Saturday, I’ve have had some time to reflect.
I used to weigh 350 lbs, couldn’t even run a mile without stopping and here I am now placing top 3 in a Ultra Marathon. Crazy
I don’t have all the fancy running
Showed up to my ultra on Saturday by myself with a hydration vest, some gels, electrolyte powder and the water in my bladder and that was it.
Everyone else had crews, tables, canopies, all types of foods and candy.
Took home 3rd place still 😎
Don’t overcomplicate things.
I woke up today @ 175 lbs, but not only that I woke up proud to face the man in the mirror. For that I changed into a new person, both on a physical and mental level.
I EARNED this.
I used to wake up ashamed of the man in the mirror. Full of self doubt, embarrassment and
Bags all packed and ready to roll! 🤙🏻
Less than 24 hrs from my 50 mile race!
Been thinking about this race since I finished my first Ultra last May!
The hay is in the barn, the work is done, it’s time to do it now!
My first attempt at running a mile over 2 years ago at 310 pounds.
1 mile - 13:34
My current fastest mile.
1 mile- 5:56
Put in the work and the results will show. It’s about making steady progress daily and being a better version of yourself everyday
I lost 180 lbs
I ran a 100 miler
I worked for and EARNED this body and everything else I’ve accomplished. So I’ll gladly post about it.
Am I the leanest and the best physique? Nope. But The only person I’m competing against and need to answer to is the man in the mirror.
I’m so FREAKING PUMPED!!
3 months ago after my 100 miler / knee injury, I could only run 1-1.5 mile without severe pain.
After months of rehabilitation / mobility work, strength training and numerous set backs and frustration all of it is paying off.
I Ran a 2 hr (12 Miles)
Nice and Easy 17 Miles. Beyond grateful for another opportunity to GET to RUN.
“I may not be the fastest, but I can run the farthest” 🏴☠️
Felt Great to push my knee into the high teens today. Super excited about the progress im making.
Running is a apart of who I am. I’m
3 months ago to to the day I stepped off for my first 100 miler and 29 hrs later I competed it.
4 years ago I was 350 lbs and I started my weight loss journey and eventually 175 lbs was lost.
All those things are great, but the real reward was learning who I, BRADY WIX was
I get asked all the time what I did to lose 150 lbs (350 lbs - 200 lbs) in 5 months and then ultimately 25 more pounds later on.
So I’ll break it down for everyone: 🔽
This is just what I did and I don’t recommend this, but it absolutely works.
- I’m not a fitness or nutrition
I ran and finished my first 100 miler, while also injuring my knee over 3 months ago.
I’m currently at about 75% - 85% of being back to being 100% and fully healed.
Since slowly getting back into running about 1.5 months ago, I’ve done all my runs @ a 9:00- 9:30 pace.
Today
Went for my first “Run” post my 100 miler and ended up being a hobble walk / run. Still dealing with a severe ITB problem in my left knee. Significant pain, but I finished the run.
Took 3 full weeks off from running and no progress. Any tips for ITB, I’ve tried it all?
Considering a video / podcast soon to go into detail about my journey from a 340 lb former college football player to losing 150 lbs, joining the Army and becoming a 100 mile finisher ultra runner.
Ask some questions you would like to see me answer! 🔽🔽
So, I really enjoy this thing called running lol.

From 340 lbs to now 195 lbs and running 2 ultra marathons and being in the Army.
You can do anything you want in this life, believe in yourself and have courage. Thank the lord for everything! 🤙🏻
Nice and smooth 20 mile run, to cap off at 67 mile week.
Focus today was zone 2 running and a proper fueling plan.
Nothing makes me feel more alive, than being outside and logging some miles! 🤙🏻
12 days from my first 100 miler and in the best shape of my life both physically and mentally. Sitting around 190 lbs heading into race day.
Just remember your body is the only thing you truly have in this world, so take care of it. ☑️
Utilize what you’ve been blessed with.
During every ultra race, I always write something on my hand & arms
During the 100 miler it was
“Remember Tomorrow” & it’s “only 30 hrs”
If I stop or DNF this race remember the pain and regret you will feel tomorrow.
It’s only 30 hrs of my life. All tough things will end.
Truly Grateful for another year on this earth. A new day and especially a birthday is something that should be cherished.
What a unbelievable year it has been. You never know when it could me your last, so enjoy each moment.
Now off to a weekend range 👊🏻
Solid 7 miles this Morning! 🤙🏻
I don’t have to run, I GET to run!
I’m going to put the abilities that God has given me to use on the daily, because I realize they can be taken from me.
Every Run is truly a gift & I’m going to continue to run until the wheels fall off!
Happy 3 year Anniversary to my lady.
From Alabama to Illinois to Missouri to now North Carolina, and who knows what’s next, we’ve lived all over the place together.
Thanks for being my biggest supporter!
From the highs and lows, to the 30 degree temperature drop, to the hallucinations and everything between.
Over the 100 miles I ran, I made a 6 min video documenting it!

From someone that used to be 340 lbs.
Struggled and still struggle with extreme body dysmorphia.
When I was 340 lbs, I didn’t care about my looks and I was mentally happy.
Now I’m physically happy, but I struggle on the other side, because I constantly

Here’s to many more years. 🇺🇸
It’s been 2 days since I PR’d my 50k
I took 2 days off of RUNNING and just did some recovery walks around the city.
Already getting the itch to RUN again.
I love it. It’s an addiction
If it was easy everyone would be doing it. If you want something in your life, you must be willing to sacrifice a lot.
You think losing 175 lbs in 5 months, keeping the weight off for 4 years and running a 100 miler was easy ? No
But being 350 lbs was harder
Everyday
I used to view running as a punishment.
Now it’s what drives me and gives me purpose in this life.
It’s my passion and fuels my fire everyday.
I’m blessed for every opportunity I get to run.
Once I took control of my health, I realized I could do anything.
From a 350 lb dude to now Running 100 mile races and in the U.S Army.
Health is the greatest asset. You get one body, take care of

My first full mile @ 14 minutes to a sub 6 minute mile.
May 2020 / Aug 2022
As they say everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Mile 38 of 50, everything went south. But guess no one really cares, I had a mission to accomplish and I wasn’t going to stop until I reached 50 miles.
It’s a mental war and you have to overcome the doubt.
My former 340 lb self would be proud to meet my current self.
Be proud of yourself and how far you’ve came.
Don’t be afraid to post that progress picture or gym photo.
Show it off. You’ve created it.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is your health is a top priority. If you don’t have your health you don’t have anything.
Take care of your self first and foremost
Physical and Mental health
No one cares about you as much as you.
