🔗 Connecting people who care with causes that matter – then, now, and forever…. In 1994/95, we held two events to connect our supporters with grant recipients. Today, we remain committed in our role as a connector to help change lives across Wiltshire and Swindon . #50for50

🤝 A longstanding partnership. In 1993/94 @Wadworth established their endowment fund with us, with their initial pledge going into an unrestricted fund to support voluntary action across the county. The organisation has also supported campaigns such as Surviving Winter. #50for50

In 1993, we received our first six-figure donation from Intel, closely followed by Avon Rubber. 💚 Their generosity helped shape the future of our work, and laid the foundations for us to become the organisation that we are today. #50for50

📗 In 1993, we published ‘Communities at Risk in Wiltshire’, an independent report which provided an overview of the county’s need. Identifying, understanding and addressing local need still plays a vital role in the work that we do today. #50for50

📖 Part of a wider story. The UKCF network was established in 1991. Today there are 50 members, 47 of which are based in the UK, and 3 are overseas foundations accredited by UKCF. Collectively, the network has awarded over £2.1 billion in grants since 1975. #50for50

In 1995, Moyra was awarded an MBE for services to the community in Swindon. Shortly after, in 1997, Moyra stepped down from our Board of Trustees after more than 20 years of service. Moyra sadly passed away in 2024, however, her legacy and influence remain within our core values.

💚The late Moyra James MBE was an influential figure. Instrumental in our early days as the Thamesdown Community Trust, Moyra worked tirelessly to grow the philanthropic landscape in Swindon, and establish a culture of collaboration and long-term impact. #50for50

In 1979, we awarded our first grant to Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool. This incredible Swindon facility offers accessible swimming for disabled people & those with mobility challenges. We’re privileged to be a part of their journey and to still support them today 💚. #50for50
