With the ram selling and display season fast approaching here’s a snap shot of what you will see out and about this year, it won’t be a display of just rams this year either, the engine room of Willera is our ewes and so we will take some of them on the road too.

This time of year we all flood social media with screen shots of fleece weights from young rams and perfectly rolled up crimpy fleeces sitting on scales, (I have those photos too) but these sheep are what makes us tick, our commercial twins, just run of mill plain ewes doing

Unjoined ewe lambs are locked up to make way for the new season lambs, rain has been a bit scarce this month but we always make sure we have the tools and the feed for this period, opened up this pit of vetch silage yesterday in its 5th year down and it’s absolutely on point.

Pretty happy with the commercial scanning, a great experiment between summer forage crop (2715 ewes joined in 1 mob, using 5% rams) and Lucerne, keeping in mind the ewes on Lucerne were fractionally lighter condition score back in November, all joined to our ram lambs!
