Our bicameral legislature includes equality among states and representation via population. The Electoral College mirrors both of those goals.

The Senate & Electoral College are promises to smaller states and incoming states. In the Senate, all states in the Senate have an equal voice. In the Electoral college, every state has one voice. Additional votes in the EC are due to population.
The USA is a republic, not a democracy. The #ElectoralCollege establishes parity between densely populated states and cities, and less populous states and cities, equalizing voting power so the higher populated areas don’t always decide the outcome of our #PresidentialElections.

One of the many, many, problems with a national popular vote for the presidency is the impact of fraud. In a state election, such as the 50 presidential elections, fraud is contained in each state. In a national popular vote election, voter fraud infests the entire system.
