Erik Spoelstra asked about the Heat adjusting to the altitude:
“If Denver wants to tip-off at the top of Everest we’ll do that.”
Says it won’t have any impact.
Nikola Jokic on a matchup against Bam Adebayo: “it’s not Bam against me. It’s Denver against Miami.”
Says he and Bam have a similar style of wanting to get everyone involved. Team basketball. Not about them.
Mike McDaniel sarcastically explaining why he told Bears QB Justin Fields “stop it” on the sideline during Sunday’s game:
“I just wanted him to stop scrambling, and it was pretty irritating because he didn’t listen at all.” 😂

Jimmy Butler on fitting in so well with the Heat:
“I’ve gotta give a shout-out to D-Wade. He always told me about this culture and how I fit here.”
Says it’s a perfect match.
Erik Spoelstra explains that Dwyane Wade swore to him and Pat Riley that Jimmy Butler would be the player who could win these games for the Heat, “This is your guy. This is the next guy.”
Interesting message from Dion Waiters tonight on his Instagram. He clearly heard and read the jokes about his weight. These guys are human. Social media can be a cruel place.

. Chris Silva’s mom here to watch him play for first time in person in college/pros. Chris left his native Gabon when he was 16. He’s seen his mom one time since when he visited home for two weeks. He had no idea she would be here tonight...
I get it. It hurts. But this was one hell of a run by the Heat. Getting to the NBA finals isn’t easy. They did it as an 8th and had to scratch and claw every step of the way. Beating Bucks, dropping Knicks and getting revenge in Boston. They ran into a better team here.
The amazing part of night is that it comes a day after Wade got emotional in talking about Joaquin Oliver, who was killed in the Parkland tragedy and was buried in a Wade jersey. D-Wade dedicated rest of the season to him. Then leads Miami to huge win. Can’t write that script.
An emotional Udonis Haslem addressing his community of Miami. Torn about how to find a solution. “As a black man raising black kids in America, I’m scared as hell.”
Heat star Jimmy Butler arrives to the Design District at a pop up location for his Big Face Coffee. He’ll be serving fans and coffee lovers for the next hour+ here at 40th and 1st.
That’s the first loss at home this postseason by the Nuggets. Some impressive sh*^ from the Heat. Keep doubting this team. They’re as resilient as can be. Incredible.
I’m all for fair criticism, but slandering Jimmy Butler after how he’s carried this team is probably not the best route IMO. He clearly hasn’t been the same for a while now. But that man is the reason Miami is even here.
Best quote and image of last night and it’s not even close. Jimmy Butler slumped over giving everything he had. Spo, “that’s an image of a champion before you’re a champion.”

Tua Tagovailoa finishes 29/36 for 382 yards and 3 touchdowns. I hope Dolphins fans understand how lucky they are to have a QB who can do that. They gave him weapons this season and he’s as accurate as can be in finding them. An absolute stud.
It’s almost impossible to overtake Dwyane Wade’s 2006 Game 3 performance in Heat history.
But Jimmy Butler’s night tonight is the closest I’ve ever seen. It’s right up there. My goodness.
After an over three hour delay to get out of Miami, the Heat have finally arrived in Boston ahead of game 5 vs Celtics.
Jimmy Butler and the Heat ready to close the deal on the road.
Going up 3-0 afforded you room to have a tough game or two, but that room is gone. Heat still up 3-2 and headed home. You’d take that spot every time. But Saturday the Heat have to dictate the pace and effort from the start. Just like Boston did tonight. Do that and finish this.
Crazy as this might sound, not sure I’m overly discouraged about this game for the Heat. Gotta hit shots against this team. Especially when taking 3’s at high volume. Saw some things matchup wise you can use for game two and ahead. Nuggets are damn good. That we knew.
Remember the fuss over the Spo clipboard toss and argument with Jimmy? It was in the middle of 4-game losing streak. Since they snapped it, the Heat are 14-4 and now headed to ECF. Oh, and Butler is averaging 28.5 PPG.
Over 3 months ago the Heat left to the bubble! They finally come home today. Who knew when those buses left that they’d take a ride to the NBA finals. What a run!
The Miami Heat just rolled out of American Airlines Arena, bound for the bubble at Disney. Erik Spoelstra at the front of the bus.
