The Oilers should make at minimum weekly calls to the Devil's to check in on their interest in moving Nemec. Daily might be excessive, but it should be every couple of days and no longer than a week between check-ins.

The Oilers organization had 3 shutouts this weekend and 4 different goalies played in 4 different games giving up 1 goal combined. Does it mean anything? No but it's kind of cool.

Pretty good chance Pickard is waived tomorrow morning, sounds like Kapanen injury isn't too bad, but doesn't sound like he'll be ready to go on Tuesday, and with Leon out, Oilers will be down to 11 forwards. I guess you could waive Regula, but that leaves two RHD on the roster.

Jesus, I missed most of the game and figured I'd probably get most of it just by watching the start and middle of the 2nd period. It was quite a while if watching back before I realized the game was in Vancouver....fans beat them in the stands as much as the players on the ice.

Oilers play 6 games in the next 10 days. Gonna have to see a pretty significant portion of the roster fill some big skates while Leon looks after what matters most.

Interesting....wonder if this trend could impact a move to bring the AHL team closer to Edmonton, like other Canadian teams have done. If it did, then the Condors should stay in the organization as the ECHL team.

Savoie's shift were so short that even though he got 3 more shifts than Janmark he only played an extra 5 seconds at 5v5.

By contrast Savoie had the shortest average shift length at 0:38. McDavid got 18 shifts at 5v5, Savoie got 14. But the shift lengths lead to McDavid being on ice for 19:36 at 5v5 and Savoie at 9:03.

How much does a coach dictate a players shift length? Noticed last night that McDavid didn't really get a ton of extra 5v5 shifts in the game, but this average shift length was the longest on the team at 1:05. Draisaitl similar at 1:04. (This is just 5v5, not PP or EN)

The craziest thing about this hit is that it's still a clean hit today. He gets him square in the chest and just blows him the fuck up.

They were +12/-1 CF/CA tonight. I think they started every single shift on the fly, but even then they were great and should be getting more minutes, especially early on in games. If McDavid and Leon are gonna be run hard late in games and for entirety of PPs, take some load off

Hard to be upset about anything in that game aside from the obvious fact it's a loss. That was a dominant game from Edmonton. Ingram made some big saves. Can't even be mad they couldn't beat Sorokin, they got it by him twice.....just not the iron

Ironically, the underlying numbers of that line have been pretty damn good with Mangiapane in for Kapanen.

3 of these 4 lines have been running xGF% north of 50%. Letting them run to see if it can be sustained is a great idea. The only one that hasn't is Draisaitl's line, but it's been scoring at a good enough clip to see if they can get the underlyings up to match the production.

At the end of the day, I think this is a possession minded player who wants the puck on his team's sticks playing with linemates who think otherwise and the crossed wires ended poorly.
