Voting isn’t the only political act. Speaking up, organizing, showing up—these shape lives too.

Being apolitical doesn’t make you neutral. It makes you complicit in the status quo.

Disability is political. Accommodations, supports, protections—none of that happens without advocacy and legislation.

Race is politicized—even if you don’t want it to be. You don’t get to opt out of a system that never lets some people in.

Education is political. Who gets well-funded schools, what gets taught, and who decides? All politics.

Saying “I’m not political” is a privilege. It means the system works well enough for you to ignore it.

Access to healthcare is political. From insurance coverage to clinic deserts—it’s not just personal, it’s structural.

Socioeconomic status is political. Wages, housing, food access, and generational wealth don’t happen in a vacuum.

Mental health is political. Who gets care, who doesn’t, and what “care” even means—these are shaped by policy.

People talk about NOT wanting to be political. Let’s unpack that.
