“Community Chest” for Gates means cashing in on health, education, and climate policy. Is this really charity… or just control dressed up as giving?

@WholeMarsBlog Now that is fascinating. *insert it’s always been that way meme* What’s weirder is that Tesla still shipped the Standard Range in 2021, but it had a premium interior and 244mi range for $39k

@WholeMarsBlog Kylee bought this car. This was "our" first Tesla. I took a picture of her MVPA last night to share and show. I think people forget where we were at, not that long ago. The price hasn't changed too much, but the product HAS changed a lot.

@WholeMarsBlog A $36,000 Model 3 in 2025 is equivalent to about $29,000 in 2019, adjusted for inflation.

@WholeMarsBlog To be fair, I would take the 321 mile range over 220 any day for a very small price increase from that.

@WholeMarsBlog Do you think the choice to give it a largish battery and 300+ miles of range was because that size battery is already being produced or because the general public is so obsessed with range when it comes to EVs?

Crypto traders: It might not be as exciting - but Futures markets: - Halt during crashes to take a breather - Are regulated - Trade on a single exchange - Close at the weekend... Had enough excitement yet? If so, read on... 🧵

@WholeMarsBlog One of the biggest issues with the affordable version will be the aversion to RWD in areas with a lot of snow. I’ve driven RWD Model 3 since 2018 and it’s great, but everyone I talk to is shocked that I’d “risk” driving a RWD car in the winter

@WholeMarsBlog This is a huge sleeper. Tesla just released it’s own mass scale version of a base level Camry or Accord. Obviously they lowered Model Y Standard COGS by WAY more than $5K… …while maintaining comparable trim levels to the competition. They can put it “on sale” anytime they

@WholeMarsBlog Standard range. That is the key Why are we married to 300 mile range batteries? Could we please go back to a 250 mile battery for less money?

@WholeMarsBlog So the Model 3 is actually like $1,000 - $2,000 cheaper than $25,000 in 2019 dollars when you count gas savings, which they counted in the vision *

@WholeMarsBlog I doubt the original vision was to have 6 variants of Model 3. The vision was to have vehicles to compete in all segments and replace ICE vehicles. At some point Tesla ended the plan to release a smaller, more affordable model

@WholeMarsBlog I sorta half thought that with the tax credit going away that Standard Range would come out with LFP battery. Hope this moves the needle but would still like to see a cheaper compact car, maybe even a coupe instead of sedan.

@WholeMarsBlog I guess you gotta consider before gas savings and then inflation too. Car is still expensive for an affordable car. Biggest problems of this economy is high energy costs which causes everything to rise in price.

@WholeMarsBlog People would still find a way to complain even if Tesla delivered a car with such specifications and pricing, lol.

@WholeMarsBlog So spend $35,000 but after savings it’s really like you only spend $24,950 even though you actually spent $35,000. Got it.
