It's been a very long while, hasn't it?

Hi all. It's been a giant minute since I've used this account. The Wettham Railway is very much alive and well. Big plans are ahead for 2024, starting with the renumbering of the main engines Abermersey and Rotherport!

A little bit of new coaching stock for the layout! These lovely little Ratio kits painted in an unmarked LMS Maroon type livery! I will be upgrading them with metal wheels and weights for better performance!

WOAH it's been a while since I used this account. The coaches I originally intended for the layout have finally arrived! And just in time too when I eventually get to rebuilding the layout!

I also do realize that the two loops are completely separated from each other. I'm using the free atlas track planner and it has a limited number of items you can include. I'll add the crossovers today. There's a whole 3rd loop I couldn't add!

Today is Abermersey's first day back in full service! He will be pulling passenger services for the rest of the 2022 running season, his first time on full passenger duty! Come next year, Abermersey will return to his familiar job of pulling the fish trains.

Welcome home, 'Abermersey'! The railway wouldn't be the same without you!

and part of the money raised went to restoring No. 85 to fully working order. Unfortunately, there were several delays to the construction, and No. 85 was only completed in August of 2022. He returned to the railway last month and is ready for excursion trains later this month!

In June of that year, the railway closed under the Beeching Axe. He was bought by the Abermersey Railway and became the station pilot at the terminice station until 1978 when the museum there opened. Come 2000, a fundraiser was put on to reopen the Quay Line,

No. 85 was built in 1880 after all the other terriers were built, making him the 51st and final terrier. Thus, he was numbered 85. He was bought by the Wettham Railway in 1911 and was the first engine on the line. He ran the line faithfully until 1964.

We here at the Wettham Railway are overjoyed to announce the return of the most important locomotive to the line, A1x terrier No. 85 'Abermersey'!

SO BASICALLY THE RAILWAY CLOSED IN 1964 UNDER THE BEECHING CUTS BUT WAS REOPENED IN 1985 THANKS TO GENEROSITY FROM THE BLUEBELL RAILWAY WHO LOANED PRIMROSE AND STEPNEY
