A Richard's Pipit at Walmore Common late afternoon for about 20 minutes until it flew off NE at 5.58pm. Some of its House Sparrow-like flight calls just about audible in this wind-affected bit of video. First record for this site. #GlosBirds

Lydney Harbour to Aylburton Warth - a steady trickle of Swallows moving NE, totaling 460 during the day. Also 3 Snipe, 8 Redshank, 2 Kestrel, a Peregrine, a Kingfisher, 5 Sand Martin, a late Willow Warbler, 2 Whinchat, 14 Stonechat, 2 Wheatear and 80 Meadow Pipit. #GlosBirds

Not a bad raptor day around the Sandhurst Hill area. An Osprey flew E at 12.20pm, a juvenile Goshawk, a Sparrowhawk, 2 Red Kite, 16 Buzzards, a Kestrel, a Hobby, an immature Peregrine, plus a Little Owl and 16 Ravens. #GlosBirds

At Elmore Rewilding this afternoon at least 5 each of Whinchat and Stonechat, a male Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrels, a Cetti's Warbler & 10 Reed Buntings. Southbound migrants included 140+ Swallows, 3 Sand Martins and 15 Meadow Pipits. #GlosBirds

Nearly 3 hours at Beachley Point produced just one Manx Shearwater, so I relocated to Lydney Harbour after news of a skua sp just across the river. Thanks to @ajordanwildlife and @Tay_PJT for the news - Long-tailed Skua! #GlosBirds

A Manx Shearwater upriver past Lydney Harbour at 10.15am. Also in the area a Common Sandpiper, 50+ Sand Martin, a Whitethroat, 4 Grey Wagtail, 8 Tufted Duck, 4 Great Crested Grebe, and Kingfisher. A Tree Pipit, 14 Meadow Pipit & 5 Yellow Wagtail flew over. #GlosBirds

Back from sunny Lundy - 2 (Western) Bonelli's Warbler, a Melodious Warbler, 3 Wryneck, many Spotted & Pied Flycatchers, Willow Warblers, & Tree Pipits, plus a few Redstart, Whinchat, Grasshopper Warbler & Firecrest. Green Sandpipers, Greenshanks, Buzzard also island ✔️for me.

I was surprised to see one of the six Whinchats at Elmore Court rewilding pecking at blackberries today. I thought they were purely insectivorous, but BWP mentions several examples of this behaviour, so it’s not unheard of, just unusual. #GlosBirds @_BTO
