member impounded another excessive speeder tonight with a Novice BC driver's licence on a frigid Hwy 1 near Taylor Way. 140km/h while talking on a cell phone. Significant fines levied with a violation ticket and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

The laws need to change to increase the impound time for excessive speeders. Also if you are a novice driver and you are caught speeding - you should automatically lose your license for 1yr & need to retest before it is reinstated. There needs to be more severe consequences.

Thank you once again for nailing speeders here in West Vancouver! I've been on the north shore for 20 years and driving has become so much more dangerous for us law-abiding citizens. Do we need more education in high schools?

wow ur so cool calling cops pigs. wonder who youโre gunna call if u ever have an emergency? iโm guessing ur one of the speeders thatโs butthurt u got a ticket. and itโs pretty easy to prove (ie. u can see a light shining from their phone)

Not condoning excessive speed, but I always like some perspective. This driver has had a licence for probably 4 years, the N is not really part of the story. 12:30am, no traffic, 6 lane highway. What is average speed on TCH, 110-120 with traffic?
