Great reminder about pubic apophyseal overload in our youth soccer athletes, typically closing from 15-20 years old and up to 26-27 y/o in rare cases.

It’s (sometimes) the hip flexor!. Injury seen in the IP MTJ. Interesting with this patient is he did not have the accessory tendon typically seen in the iliacus and muscle belly was very low lying with insertion below the hip joint.

🩺⚽️ Iliopsoas Tears in Soccer ⚽️. Iliopsoas strains make up ~2-5% of muscle injuries in elite soccer yet are often overlooked. Early ultrasound diagnosis = faster recovery & better outcomes. Don’t ignore hip flexor pain!
