When my dad passed I had a surreal experience, a moment of not knowing exactly who I was or where I was. My mind seemingly scanned time and space and the ages, names pouring into my thoughts but not settling, not fitting. Each name accompanying pictures and images.
Here's my final image of the year- a detailed true color portrait of The Great Orion Nebula. Visible to the naked eye to the entire world during winter months, this is a gorgeous target for astronomers of all skill levels. Happy new year!
