2/ Thank you to my command chain for empowering me to do what I do. We often talk about empowerment but fail to do it. The direction and space is a fertile ground for creativity and innovation. I would encourage more to do likewise.

1/ Absolutely elated to be recognised in HM the Kings birthday honours. Reading @RAdmJudeTerry congratulations letter made more difficult with my mam reflecting half way through how proud my dad would have been 🥹

What a fabulous first day at @3countiesshows. 7 schools booked in to learn what makes ships float and how submarines rise and fall. Stand out was the very impressive young man I’m in the chair with…. What a sponge for information and learning. Future engineer without doubt!

1/ Just over a week to go before I will be cycling 340+ miles through Northern Europe raising money for Ospreys in the Community youth and dementia programmes. Last year I hit my total quite easily, this times been a little harder and possibly a sign of the times

2/ One of @WestGlamorganLL young Sea Cadets stood, giving a great speech about her time as the Lord Lt’s cadet and the skills she has gained with the cadet forces. Confident, articulate, funny I have no doubt that the young lady will go on to achieve whatever she sets her mind to

1/ Always nice to attend the Lord Lieutenants awards. A chance to celebrate outstanding achievements, commitment and excellence. The RN family were well represented last night.

1/ Has Beanz Coffee Bar this morning opened a new shop in Ammanford. Their choice of VIP to open the shop 102yo RN Veteran Neville. Tara James and the team do so much for the veterans community it was an inspired call, especially as Nev has been quite poorly of late.

I had the pleasure of speaking to @Boothy6 on a number of occasions. Always took away some sage advice and thoughts. It was an awesome experience to take him and the @ospreys squad to Portsmouth for a pre season training camp a couple of years ago. Good luck in future endeavours
