Serving Vermont is an incredible privilege. Thank you for choosing me to represent this brave little state in the United States Senate.

Last night, Democrats won the Miami mayor’s race for the first time in almost 30 years. It’s proof that Democrats have momentum, and that people all around the country are turning away from Donald Trump’s terrible policies.

We’re moving the needle against the Trump Administration’s terrible policies.    But nothing is guaranteed. We can’t stop working hard over the next year to flip Congress Blue.

While we didn’t ultimately win, the over-performance by Democrats in Tennessee means the efforts by folks on the ground across the country is working. We can make a Blue wave happen next year if we keep focusing on bringing down costs for families trying to make ends meet.

You shouldn’t have to take out a loan to pay for groceries.

In a major victory for Vermont, Senator Peter Welch’s Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act has passed the Senate. This bill expands milk options with school lunches, strengthening child nutrition standards & providing support for dairy farmers.

Congratulations to Lachlan Francis on being voted as the next Chair of the Vermont Democratic Party. I look forward to working with him to elect more Democrats up and down the ballot across the state so we can lower prices for working families.

It couldn’t be more clear who President Trump serves. Billionaires get massive tax cuts. Working families get their health care taken away.

Tonight's victories show us that when Democrats focus on lowering costs for working families, we win.   This is the blueprint to flipping the House and Senate in the midterms next year.

Congratulations to @SpanbergerForVA on flipping the Virginia Governor's Mansion Blue.    Abigail was a champion for working families in Congress and she'll be a champion for all working families in Virginia.

Today is Election Day. GO VOTE.    Every election and ballot measure is important in determining the future of your community.

To the thousands of Vermonters who joined peaceful No Kings protests over the weekend, thank you.   Our state has always led by example using the power of our voices and our votes.

I'm glad that both Republicans and Democrats in Vermont are speaking out against the terrible rhetoric in the Young Republican Group Chat. This is part of a disturbing rise of hateful and violent political speech in this country. We must all choose to respect each other.

What Jay Jones said, repeatedly and recklessly, was disturbing. I agree with former congresswoman Spanberger. There is no justification for anyone, let alone a candidate for Attorney General, to call for, condone, or celebrate political violence for any reason.

President Trump promised America that on Day One, he was going to lower prices. He’s doing the exact opposite    Not only is inflation rising, it’s picking up speed. August was the highest rise in inflation since President Trump was elected.
