Basically, instead of competing for attention with directions apps (dangerous during driving), it compliments them by adding the upcoming weather info right at the top of the screen. Here is how it looks like:

And finally – Daylight and UV Index. Seeing extreme heat waves recently, we added a new map mode that shows the UV intensity along the route and highlights parts of the route done during the day and night.

Next one: Hiking and Cycling routes. With outdoor sports being especially weather critical, we now have dedicated modes for cycling and hiking. The app will calculate the best route, the speed it takes and show you the weather you will encounter on a trail.

Extending the current precipitation radar which shows live conditions, it can now preview how the storm will change in the future. With @NOAA weather models and machine learning we calculate how the weather patterns will evolve for 7 days, with first 48h at high resolution.

The summer is in full swing and so the new version of Weather on the Way adds summer oriented features to help take full advantage of the weather while avoiding dangerous storms. First – animated future radar:
