We are delighted to announce that the total funds raised for charity during the festival 2024 was £14,387.07 - this includes £8550 to local groups/clubs and the balance to Abby's Heroes from the sale of bags of watercress and the Season Cookery School Big Green Egg classes.

This year saw the biggest number of entries into our BARTERS BEST USE OF WATERCRESS competition. The winner was Kate from Horsechestnut Herbals with her Watercress Cough Medicine. Runners up were entries from Les Macarons de Pauline and Soles Butchers.

Thank you to the team at Lainston House for their BBQ sessions on the Big Green Egg on Sunday - Thanks to their hard work and the number of guests who enjoyed this opportunity a further £618.77 has been donated to Abbys Heroes

Now the dust has settled a HUGE THANK YOU to the volunteers, residents and businesses in Alresford for their amazing support of the festival at the weekend. Same time next year?

The Watercress crowns have arrived - thank you to the very talented Rachel at Wild Bunch in Alresford for her efforts again. These will be on the heads of our Watercress King & Queen in the cavalcade at 10am tomorrow.

Do you know that all profits from the Alresford Watercress Festival are donated back to local charities in the town? Over the years thousands and thousands of pounds have been raised for local clubs, associations, schools and charities.

BARTERS BEST ENTRY .... wow another entry. The judges are going to have fun time! Barters Best Watercress Gin from Nicole and Martin at Pothecary Gin During the festival, find them on Broad Street with other Hampshire Farmer Market producers.

Opening the festival to the sound of Church Bells - St Johns Church Bell Ringers will be in action from 10:00 to 10:30 on Sunday 19th May - do listen out for them as they welcome you to New Alresford.

One of the funniest entries into the Barters Best Competition - Lou from Mad Lou Publishing has created Cressida the Watercress Queen!

Another entry into our Barters Best - Alresford Watercress, Lyburn Old Winchester cheese & Two&One Verde Harvest olive oil pesto. Come along and meet Lola and the team on Sunday.

The failure of a phone network last year resulted in some payment issues so please do think to bring along a little cash and support the local traders. Please be aware there is only one cash machine in Alresford at the Co-Op.
