The problem was their conference slate was cake and they went 5-3 and lost to Georgia State and ODU with the reigning Sun Belt Player of the Year at QB. South Al, Southern Miss, North Texas and ULM were a combined 19-31 last year.
@zekepalermo @WarmWeatherFans @WatchTheStone To say playing poorly again is a stretch but understanding your pod it makes complete sense. You play the schedule handed and you beat the teams on it you should beat, right? They ended up 8-5 with close losses to #1 in the West, #4 in the East, and us.

I doubt anyone from San Marcos on down to the rest of the conference is super broken up about this. Seems like a solid deal from all sides. East Carolina could come fill their spot and I don’t think anyone would blink twice.

Texas State standout kicker Mason Shipley has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247Sports. Shipley, a 2023 first-team All-Sun Belt selection, is 31 of 35 on field goals in his career.
