This morning marked the final House Meeting of the year and also our final Birthday of the year, with this year’s illustrious Head of House Billy marking his big day. Happy Birthday Billy - we hope you have a great day! 🎉🥳🎂🎁🎈🎊

I Want It That Way. Don’t Stop Me Now. I Ain’t Worried. Chasing The Sun. Number 1 on our countdown is the House Song competition. 2 wins out of 4 were great ways to start the year but, beyond that, the competition was always a great way to bring a new House together! 🎼🎵🎶

Tonight we held our annual House BBQ. As eve, the night started with some inflatable bouncing, followed by a hog roast in House. After some speeches and farewells, it was time to go back to the bouncing. Via the ice cream van of course!

It was the last chapel of the year today and, coincidentally, our House chapel too. Some of our Year 13 boys (and Housemaster) couldn’t resist donning their school uniform one last time to talk about the theme ‘The Individual and the Universal’

Number 2 on the countdown: the Couch to 5k. For the least two years, three times a week during the spring term, staff and students embarked on the Couch to 5k program, aiming to complete the Colour Run 9 weeks later. Through rain, snow and sun, every run was unique! 🔴🔵🟠🟢🟡🏃‍♂️

Into the top 3: at number 3 on the list are the House Christmas Dinners. Silent discos, year group photos, visits from Santa and, of course, our annual 12 Days of Christmas singalong, these events are always a great way to celebrate each December 🎅🎄

The countdown continues: at number 4, are our annual Eurovision parties. Saturday night is always a social highlight of the week but these annual occasions have always been popular, complete with European buffets 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺

The countdown continues: at number 5 it’s time for an April Fool’s Joke! Whether it was announcing that phone time would be restricted to one hour a day, the merger to form Ward’s Ivy House Grove, or the name change Gregory House, we caught lots of people out with our annual joke

The countdown continues: at number 7 are our annual visits from RV the elf. Once a year, our very own elf has visited us from the North Pole to deliver advent calendars wreak havoc and mischief around the House and school.

The countdown continues: at number 8 is the Virtual House! During lockdown, Ward’s House moved online. This saw Ward’s boys all around the world join in with photo challenges, singalongs, games like Through the Keyhole and The Loo Roll Challenge 🧐🌈🧻
