🟢U15 City Cup Success🟢 A huge congratulations to our Under 15 City Cup WINNER! Our girls won in true style, beating St Mary's (respected as a very strong side) a whopping 5-0. Mr Couldwell said "Our girl played some of the best football I have seen in my time at Walker."

Students have received their KS4 Options Booklets today. An electronic form will be sent to each student's email address this evening allowing them to select their subjects. This must be completed by Friday 31st March.

The Academy is still open today to Year 11: • Art Exam - (All Day) Art/Photography, cohort C • English - Exam revision with exam-board specialist (sets 1-4, 12-3pm) • Geography Revision - Geography students who are not in the English revision (Google Classroom, 1-2pm)

To kick off our World Book Day celebrations, staff have been volunteering to read the Yoto Carnegie Award nominated #Needle by @LawrencePatrice. Students have enjoyed hearing Charlene's story and empathising with her struggles. We're all routing for Charlene.

🟢CCF/Careers🟢 On Saturday a small group of our Year 11 Cadets attended a careers event in York. A few of our students were offered job interviews and others have sent copies of their CVs to different companies across the North East. As always, our Cadets did Walker proud.

This time last week a group of Year 10 and 11 students, who are part of the Future Leaders Programme, attended a Taster Day at @NorthumbriaUni The students got to sample some STEM lectures including: a Maths focused secret writing session in Cryptography.

It's always nice to share what our students have been doing in their lessons... As part of their Business and Industry rotation this term, our Year 7s have been designing their own board games. Miss Mosley was especially impressed by some of the students' creativity.
