Yesterday, the UN joined @EswatiniGovern1 and partners in eHhukwini Inkhundla to commemorate World AIDS Day under the theme “Eswatini Overcoming Disruption: Transforming the AIDS Response” - a reminder of our shared responsibility to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Mr. Ceesay highlighted that everyone has a role to play in strengthening the national HIV response and improving the health and wellbeing of all Emaswati, and called for renewed energy in the face of an uncertain global HIV funding landscape that risks reversing hard-won gains.

Speaking on behalf of the UN Resident Coordinator, UNAIDS Country Director Mr. Nuha Ceesay stated that “World AIDS Day reminds us of the progress we have made and the hope that guides us toward a future where every person can live with dignity, health, and opportunity."

The launch was attended by Cabinet Ministers led by the Prime Minister, alongside representatives from the diplomatic corps, private sector, civil society, academia, media, the UN, and others - reflecting the broad partnerships that drive our shared development agenda. #SDG17
