In addition to the national championship award, we also won the Unger Cup for being the best policy debate team over the course of all the national championships, and the Ted Belch Award for the policy debate coach of the year.

For the first time ever, WaRu debate traveled to Nashville for the Montgomery Bell Academy tournament. At the end of prelims, Raina/Grace are the lone undefeated (6-0). They will begin elims tomorrow as the top seed and receive another TOC bid! Pairings and awards in the AM.

At the Glenbrooks Round Robin, Raina and Grace had quite the showing! Raina ended as the 4th speaker and Grace was the 2nd individual speaker! They finished with a 5-1 record and took 2nd place! A huge accomplishment at a prestigious tournament.

All three Washburn Rural decisions in round 11 were 2-1 decisions. Khan/Park lost to Doughtery Valley. The other two both won & will be in the top 14 teams! That means they will receive awards on the main stage on Friday. Also, Kessler/Peter have auto-qualified for next year!

Congrats to Grace Kessler, who was the 7th individual speaker at NDCA! Due to weather concerns, they have canceled elimination rounds tonight. Both teams will compete tomorrow morning in the top 32.
