A line of strong storms has developed north of us, moving southeast. Parts of Jackson County are experiencing these storms, with winds up to 60 mph and hail up to 1" in diameter.

La Crosse Police are investigating a shooting incident on the 600 block of Pettibone Drive that occurred late Wednesday night.

Those of you with plans to be outside this holiday weekend, you might have some rain to dodge, but there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the heat. Our main chances for rain will be Saturday afternoon and evening, with occasional showers and thunderstorms.

For the 4th of July, it is getting very hot and humid. Real feels can get up to 100°. This will give way to a risk for heat related illnesses. While obvious, it's a good reminder to make sure to drink plenty of water, and take breaks outside during the holiday weekend.
