As a family, they agreed to use the money to pay school fees for their children and start a fish farm. Today, they’re not just surviving—they’re thriving. “This fish farm is more than income—it’s our future,” Biira says with a smile.

Here, they found a new path rooted in restoration and resilience. In a few months of providing labor to the restoration efforts, they earned UGX 2.5M from planting bamboo along the rechanneled River Dubu.
