UPDATE: The driver who died in a head on crash on 3100 south Saturday night has been identified as 69 yo Peni Palei. Palei rear ended a vehicle then fled. He then hit another vehicle head on and was killed in that crash. Others involved suffered only minor injuries.

The victim in this fatal motorcycle accident has been identified as 23-year-old Jose Flores. No one else was injured in the accident.

The accident is under investigation. Early evidence indicates excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Westbound lanes are closed. They are expected to reopen at about 6:15pm. 2/2

FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH: At about 3:15 this afternoon a motorcyclist traveling west on 4100 S. crashed into the back of a vehicle stopped in the left turn lane at 3670 W. The rider, a 23 year old male, died at the scene. No one else was injured. 1/2

The child went missing from his home in Taylorsville. Taylorsville police have been made aware and a criminal investigation is underway.

UPDATE: the child’s parents have been located.

This boy was found alone near 2700 S Redwood Road around 9:40 PM last night. We haven’t been able to find his parents. He looks to be around 10y. He is nonverbal. The boy was wearing the green Minecraft outfit seen in the photo. If you have any info, please call 801-840-4000.

One officer fired and did not hit the suspect, but the 16-year-old male suspect was taken into custody.
