Did you sign off on leave of absences when the previous government forced teachers to take an experimental medical intervention to keep their jobs? That was stressful for them as well.

I’m a family doctor with many teachers for patients. This situation is a stressor far past what I would expect any of them to tolerate. Mental health/moral injury is almost assured. I feel well within my clinical capacity to sign them off on leaves of absence.

The NDP and ATA are working hand in hand to oust the UCP government by using teachers and students as political warfare fodder.

@heatherlab1 @WScafemirror We would get monthly newsletters from the Union that had opinion pieces strongly suggesting members vote a certain way (always against the UCP/Conservatives) as well as emails and at meetings. Most colleagues were NDP voters, and were ok with what was being said. I was not.

This is the same deal that the ATA tentatively agreed to in Sept. Then demanded free cvd boosters for teachers, gov agreed. Then they demanded another $2 Billion with inflexible provisions which stalled negotiations. They sacrificed their pay for the ATA. 12% salary increase

They have NOT taken rights away, they're operating within the confines of the Constitution Act 1982. If you don't like it, let's build an INDEPENDENT ALBERTA, write our OWN constitution and keep our $27 billion we send east then FUND OUR SERVICES BETTER.

@WScafemirror @KirkMiller47849 @Darlene05261835 I see them taking rights away, picking on minorities and cutting ba k on AISH support while mismanaging our tax dollars. Not standing up for Albertans. Blindly supporting oil and gas which will become obsolete. Thats a whole nother topic though!

Ford offered only a $1 raise to CUPE with an average wage of only $39k and used the NWC before the ONT strike even began. In AB, TEBA made a good offer to the ATA, they turned it down over CVD boosters. Our kids have been out of school for a MONTH! Enough.

@sisuvanhell @WScafemirror Ontario tried this a while back. It didn't work out so well for the Doug Ford.

Yes, They did address concerns. Did you know that the ATA rejected a similar deal because they wanted "COVID Boosters" available for teachers, for free? The teachers did NOT ask for that, WHY did the ATA/NDP unholy alliance? 12% salary increase over 4 years Up to 17% market

Using the notwithstanding clause is NOT unconstitutional. It's part of the Constitution act 1982. It is explicitly constitutional. Just as you told me section one of the charter gave government the right to close my business, our government can get kids back in school. The

The teachers have valid concerns (mostly addressed now) This strike is NOT about teachers or students- it's an attempt by NDP aligned unions to topple a government by using teachers and students as fodder. The unions will be greatly rewarded for their efforts, if successful.

Everything we’ve heard indicates the UCP is about to override the Charter of Rights and Freedoms for the first time in Alberta’s history. Which of our rights will Danielle Smith come after next? https://t.co/4N4ZvJMjKB
