We may be in the last two weeks of term but the musical opportunities keep coming for our pupils @WarwickSchool. A side by side with the band of the Scots Guards watched by pupils within the Junior and Senior Schools. So inspiring for all involved, both playing and watching.

An exciting afternoon welcoming the orchestra from @CroftPrepSchool to an open rehearsal of The Planets by @ootscomment for tonight’s sold out concert. Truly inspirational for these young musicians. DM me if you’re connected with a local school who might benefit from similar.

Unique opportunities for pupils thanks to our orchestra in residence @ootscomment as our next cohort of conducting students work with members of the orchestra and the wonderful Rebecca Miller on Elgar’s serenade for strings. Such a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

Lovely afternoon at the Chase Meadow Community Centre with Cerys and Sing for Joy, raising money for Stroke charities. Another example of how we at “Warwick A Singing Town” are supporting the community. Lots of music, laughter and money raised too!

Wonderful to be @StMarysWarwick this afternoon with over 400 students from Warwick Primary Schools today with the wonderful team at Warwick A Singing Town in a concert hosted by Warwick Rotary club. Partnerships in action and music for all.

Lovely first afternoon at the Music Teachers Association conference 2025 at the Trinity Academy, Bristol.

It’s a new term, so many exciting things in the pipeline, more news soon. Our first concert of term is Percussion involving pupils across the Foundation. Some wonderful solos and ensembles including Alan Keown’s ‘Sand’, ‘Jump in the line’ and ‘Freerider’ by Patrick Speranza.

It may be the holidays but the musicians @WarwickSchool don’t let that stop them! Quick visit @rncmlive for the finals @NCBF_festival. Little Big Band & Big Band performing. Always great to hear other bands incl Royal Marines this year. Great to hear some new composers too.

As this really busy term comes to an end, I'm already eagerly looking forward to the launch of two new initiatives from Warwick A Singing Town: "Singing for Mums" (Wed April 30th) & WAST Youth Choir (Wed May 7th). More details here:

The honour of the final WSF concert this term goes to Canticum, our choral society tonight. They're more a chamber choir this time, following 'Calling All Dawns' in November with Steve Dobrogosz's Mass and 'Nonsense' by Richard Rodney Bennett.

Another packed week of concerts. Tonight it’s the @WarwickSchool Bandstand Showcase featuring two of the bands through to the NCBF finals the weekend after next.

There have been so many wonderful musical experiences this week. An extraordinary display of high quality music making from the @WarwickSchool Music Scholars on Monday and tonight is the Big Brass concert, always a special event.

"Music is everywhere. It's in the air between us, waiting to be sung." Amazing experiences for pupils of all ages & stages of their musical journeys this week. Our partners @ootscomment are today working with all of our Year 7 pupils on Bizet's Torreador's Song. En Garde!.

An exciting moment as the stage is set for our pupils performing side by side with @ootscomment in the world premiere of “Air”.

It’s a new week and this evening brings Stringfest @WarwickSchool. A great way to celebrate this St Patrick’s Day and wonderful to see so many boys (and a few girls) involved in music making.

Wishing the three chamber ensembles from the Foundation all the best in the @procorda National finals @WoldinghamSch. So thrilled to have three groups through this year. Chamber music is so important in the development of our musicians. @WarwickSchool @KHSWarwick @WarwickPrep.

Lovely to make a swift dash to Warwick to hear the @ootscomment junior come and play day. All part of our wonderful partnership and mission with @wark_shiremusic and The Swan to open music to all across the town.

Really looking forward to @ootscomment Elements concert next week. Our students are exploring and creating “air” in their 2nd workshop with Tim Whitehead, David Gordon and David Le Page.
