Thursday has been pretty nice. Temperatures have warmed into the upper 80s to lower 90s for most locations. Conditions will remain warm into the evening. A few stray showers are not out of the question with an increase in cloud cover.

Wednesday afternoon has been partly sunny and very warm. Temperatures have been in the 80s, but it is feeling comfortable due to dry air in place.

COOL MORNING, WARM AFTERNOON . Wednesday morning will be starting out feeling almost like fall. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s for most location. The afternoon will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

LOOSING DAYLIGHT -- Tuesday featured 11 hours of daylight. Over the next couple of months, we will quickly loose daylight. Tomorrow's sunset in Savannah will be at 7:55 pm. Sunset September 1st will be at 7:48 pm. By September 30th, sunset will be at 7:10 pm.

Tuesday evening is going to be pretty comfortable with temps in the 80s early on and the the 60s overnight. Conditions will remain dry despite an increase in cloud cover tonight and into Wednesday.

Tropical Storm Fernand has weakened as of 11 p.m. with 50 mph wind. Gusts are still higher. This system will not last much longer as a tropical storm and will dissipate by mid week. No other development is expected in the tropics at this time. Good news!

VIPIR Radar is tracking a few quick moving showers this Monday afternoon. A few more are possible into the early evening. However, drier pattern will set up for Tuesday through Thursday.

A Flood Advisory has been issued for Wayne County until 9:15 pm. This storm is producing heavy rain in excess of 1-2" per hour. It is also producing strong wind gusts as it moves SW.

A Flood Advisory has been issued for for Appling County until 8:45 pm. A storm cell located in the northern part of the county has dropped over 1-2" of rain with more on the way.

A strong storm is moving into Savannah now. Heavy rain and gusty winds are possible. High rainfall rates are leading to some flooding issues. A Flood Advisory has been issued for Chatham, Effingham, Bryan, and Liberty County until 8:15 pm.

Hurricane Erin maintain strength with 110 mph sustained wind as of the 11 p.m. NHC advisory. Wind gusts are as high as 130 mph. The storm will make its closed pass near the Outer Banks tonight and into Thursday. Erin is no longer expected to regain major hurricane status.

High Surf and rip currents are definitely an issue at Tybee Island. The only people in the water are surfers.

Hurricane Erin located just off of our coast is leading to elevated tide levels. High tide at Ft. Pulaski is forecast at 9.6', just below minor flood stage. A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued until 9 pm due to the possibility of minor salt water inundation.
