Awesome. The Tribune is worse-off for losing you, and the Sun-Times is very lucky. Keep up your solid reporting on issues (like housing) that are very important to low-income working families.
Today, you can read my work in both the @chicagotribune (my final story) and the @Suntimes (where I am now freelancing): https://t.co/pDwjDha4ru

This is very disturbing. "Freedom of the press" seems to be eroding in our country. We are all worse off for it.
Nine of our Chicago Tribune Guild colleagues have left our newspaper since our owner, Alden Global Capital, initiated a series of layoffs, buyouts & reassignments two months ago. Three of them were laid off. Each of our laid off colleagues is Muslim. (1/5)

Very sad to hear. Your coverage of important housing issues was critical to low-income people in Chicago. Blessings to you and best of luck. We will stay in touch.
I spoke prematurely. We thought we had reached a mutually beneficial agreement for my return. We had not. I think it's time for me to move on. I accepted a buyout and today is my last day with the Chicago Tribune.

Yeeaaa, Lizzie!! @lizzie_kane17 We are among your big supporters, because you report on housing issues that are critical to low-income working families (especially families of color) in Chicago. Please keep it up!!
I said I wouldn’t be shut up for long and here we are: The Tribune offered me my job back, and I start again today. Thank you so much to everyone for their support and kind messages when I was laid off. It was unbelievable

As members of Jobs to Move America (Illinois-Midwest), we are outraged. As an organization that organizes working families to defend their rights, we applaud those who are speaking out - this helps all of us!
The Micron megafacility planned for Clay, NY could use: 💧 48M gallons/day ⚡ More energy than VT + NH combined ☠️ Large quantities of toxic “forever” chemicals Central New Yorkers are paying attention and speaking out.

🗣 198 voices for change. 🎒 144 backpacks. 🗳 54 adults talking housing, workplace, and civil rights. This wasn’t just a giveaway - it was organizing in action. We’ve reached $3,695 of our $5,000 goal and it’s not too late to help us close the gap. https://t.co/xWFIg7nVx8

We are proud members of Jobs to Move America, and this is great news. As we push ahead here in Chicago, promoting Local Hire/Targeted Hire approaches so that more folks from low-income neighborhoods get access to good jobs.
Big news! @metrolosangeles and JMA have resolved their $730M contract dispute, ensuring U.S. workers are prioritized as we gear up for the Olympics. Commitment to U.S. jobs is key! #LAMetro #Olympics2028 #GoodJobs

We are a proud grantee of Healing Illinois, working to unite low-income African American families & low-income Latinx families to gain mutual respect, trust, & solidarity so that both of our communities can advance together.
THREAD [1/2] Thank you to @Chicagodefender for spotlighting the powerful work Healing Illinois and our incredible sub-grantees are doing in communities across the state! This effort is truly a labor of love. In the midst of the hard work, it’s easy to wonder, “does it matter?”
