Today marks 3 years of full-scale war in #Ukraine. Millions remain displaced, live under daily shelling, and struggle to put food on the table. @WFP provides critical assistance to 1.5M people each month through local bakeries, suppliers & partners, focused on frontline regions

When Sehrii returned to his home in #Kamianka, #Kharkiv region, he had lost most of his beehives to the war and was injured by a mine in his yard. @WFP and @FAOUkraine in partnership with @fsd__ch have been clearing Kamianka so families like his can safely return and farm again.

🌱 In Kamianka, Kharkivska oblast, the Lysenko family rebuilt their lives through the joint FAO–@WFPUkraine  mine action initiative. With support from FAO, @Canada & #UHF, they repaired their home and received a 240 m² greenhouse to grow fresh vegetables again.

Today @WFP #Ukraine shared results of our work with @FAO and demining partners at #UMAC2025. So far, 8,800 ha of land have been surveyed & 1,800 ha cleared of explosive ordnance, helping over 10,700 families & 420 farmers safely return to their fields & rebuild their livelihoods.

Overnight strikes brought death, injury and destruction to #Ukraine’s cities. Aid workers are already providing assistance at the affected sites. Civilians are #NotATarget!

#Ukraine is the most mine-contaminated country in the world, with 140,000km² potentially unsafe. This week @WFP joins the Ukraine Mine Action Conference in Tokyo hosted by @MofaJapan_en. With @FAOUkraine and de-mining partners, we help farmers restart work safely on their land.

Yevhenia fled #Donetsk region when a missile struck her home. At #Pavlohrad transit centre, she received food & registered for cash assistance. With EU @eu_echo support, @WFP assisted 8,500 people through transit centres in September, helping them reach safer areas of #Ukraine.

We continue to support those who remain near the frontline in #Ukraine. As fighting intensifies near the northern border, @WFP and partner @myrnenebo_kh distributed 10,000 food boxes in the #Sumy region in September to support those living less than 30km from the frontline.

Food is a human right — not a privilege. For 1M people living within 20km of the frontline in #Ukraine, access to food is a daily struggle due to shelling, drones, and closed supermarkets. In 2025, @WFP has already distributed 2.5M food boxes in frontline regions. #WorldFoodDay

Yesterday, @WFP #Ukraine Country Director @rraganwfp met with @MinSocUA to align on next steps in improving social assistance for vulnerable Ukrainians. Our focus remains on supporting those living within 50 km of the front line through food deliveries and cash assistance.

Last week, @WFP handed over a specialised demining machine to @NPAdisarm in #Mykolaiv. The equipment will speed up mine clearance, helping farmers restart work safely on their land, as part of the joint @FAOUkraine–WFP project in frontline regions in #Ukraine.

Totally unacceptable. A targeted drone strike hit two @WFP trucks in #Ukraine. No one was hurt, but the trucks—and the life-saving aid they were delivering—went up in flames. Humanitarian workers, vehicles and cargo are #NotATarget. Anytime, anywhere.

The Head of the @UN in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale @matzschmale condemned the attack on the UN humanitarian convoy in the Kherson region: "Deliberately targeting humanitarians& humanitarian assets is a gross violation of international humanitarian law& might amount to a war crime."

This family in #Mykolaiv can grow food again. After @HALOUkraine cleared their land of UXO, @WFP provided support to help them restart farming. WFP and @FAOUkraine are collaborating with @HALOUkraine in #Mykolaiv and #Kharkiv regions to help people return safely to farming.
