Beneficiaries of @WEADS_project exhibited products in agro value chains such as Dairy, Coffee, Irish Potatoes, Fruits & Vegetables during the launch on Tuesday. The project aims to enable them comply with pdt standards, food safety practices and access local & regional markets.

#FemaleEntrepreneurs are engines of innovation, employment and productivity👏 Yet they often receive less support to grow their businesses. Today @Karin_Boven launched the @WEADS_project which will support 100 women-led agri-businesses to become more resilient and sustainable💪

The Ambassador of @NLinUganda, @Karin_Boven has this morning launched the @WEADS_project at Fairway Hotel, Kampala. 100 women-led Agri-SMEs in different value chains, across various regions, embark on a four-year journey that will accelerate their businesses.

During the Food safety & Handling session this evening, @UNBSug's @CeNasaba has told women-led SMEs in the food value chains to always conform to standards, because their processes impact not their their product quality and brand, but also the health of their customers.

Digital Literacy trainer, @andrewkato9 has encouraged women-led SMEs to be deliberate and consistent on digital marketing. "Leverage the platforms where most of your target customers are. Create a plan, follow it, and you will realise the results."

As the digital evolution strengthens its power on people's life, women-led SMEs have been encouraged to harness the transformation to grow their businesses, by using various available tools and platforms in processes such as accounting, networking and marketing.

A financial literacy training session this afternoon has encouraged women enterpreneurs to always draw a distinct line between personal and business finances as well as do constant scanning of their SMEs to invest in critical areas that accelerate growth.

Training for women-led small and medium enterprises in the poultry, fresh fruits & vegetables value chains, kicked off at Fairway Hotel this morning. The full-day exercise has 40 women entrepreneurs from Kampala and Wakiso, who are beneficiaries of the @WEADS_project.

Due to high price fluctuations of milk, managing finances is one of the foremost challenges in the dairy value chain. Therefore, women-led enterprises in Mbarara, Bushenyi & Isingiro under the @WEADS_project, received a Financial Literacy training with extra enthusiasm.. 1/3

The training was graced by the Kabale district deputy LCV chairperson, Miria Akankwasa who advised women to utilize the networks built through such engagements to form partnerships and cooperatives for access to market and finances. (2/2)

A five-day training of over 20 Women-led enterprises in the Irish Potatoes value chain in Kabale district last week, emphasized the need for more collaborations among women entrepreneurs to promote value addition, access quality raw materials, and improve competitiveness. (1/2)
