Last week, we honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. This week, I'm reflecting on our next steps. I'm thankful to Indiana Black Expo for allowing me to serve as President and carry forward Dr. King's vision. His words remind us that progress needs courage and compassion.

Indy is not just a place of progress and potential to me. It is home and it is the place that built me. I believe that by focusing on the basics that every family deserves, we can build a city we’re proud to pass on to the next generation. Help us build from the ground up.

Early this month I had the honor of delivering the keynote speech at the 2025 Africa Business Conference at Indiana University. Thank you to the African Business Club at the Kelley School Of Business for hosting this dynamic event and providing community-building opportunities.

On November 3, 2025 the Indianapolis City-County Council recognized The Exchange at the Indianapolis Urban League for their 10 years of service and leadership in the development of young professionals in Indianapolis. Congratulations on an impactful decade.

Indianapolis is the second U.S. city with the most war memorials and dedicates the most land to honor our veterans than any other U.S. city. Take a look at some of these monuments & memorials which reside in the 12th district.

One of the many great lessons I learned as a missionary was the power of incremental change through sharing the gifts and talents we have. It is within everyday actions, big or small, that we continue to build a strong city and lead Indianapolis forward together.
