I forgot to mention this is a Thermal Master Thor 002. Screen is 640x480px 60Hz IPS, features SuperResolution IR 512×384px

It also has a built-in cover for the thermal sensor lens.

This thing is physically larger than any thermal camera I reviewed before. The increase in display size and resolution as well as sensor resolution is very noticeable over previous models.

And Bingo! As suggested in the comments the culprit was the MLCC on the LDO. Removing the LDO didn't show any improvement but when I removed the caps (2x 10uF) it immediately dropped to just 11-12uA. One of the MLCC caps shows an ESR of 1Ohm. @joulescope used for measurements.

I have already identified D1 reverse polarity protection diode at the input causing trouble. After removing it sleep current dropped from 5mA to 1.9mA. Good but not good enough, there is still something else on here causing trouble.

Something is causing my coffee scale to drain the battery in a few days instead of the normal battery life which is months. Luckily I have the best tool for this kind of debug @joulescope JS220.

Interesting water leak sensing technology. I wasn't aware such water leakage rope sensors existed.

I have added a second 15Ah gel battery for a total of 30Ah to keep it running during those extended cold completely cloudy days of winter time.

Just did a battery upgrade on My @RAKwireless Rak7289v2 Lora gateway and I was impressed that a year later after being exposed to the element everything is in excellent condition. PS: this is a DIY installation with a DIY solar system, not the original one from RAK.
