The attack on the ADF in Ituri is part of “Operation Shujaa,” an ongoing military offensive conducted jointly by the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ugandan forces against ADF and other ISIS-affiliated insurgent forces in Kivu and Ituri.

The operation over the weekend, which targeted areas around Mungamba in Irumu territory and extended to Lolwa on the Komanda-Mambasa axis, marked a turning point in the long fight against ISIS-affiliated armed groups.

Investigators are now piecing together the couple’s last known movements, reviewing neighborhood CCTV footage, and interviewing more residents for leads on potential suspects.

Linda also informed residents that phase one of the government's electricity extension program is underway in Kitaka, Kazingo and Mandako Wards explaining that once complete the project will improve power access across the city.

On infrastructure, she pointed to the central government’s release of over one billion shillings for road maintenance within the city and ongoing efforts to tarmac key roads in Fort Portal.
