It’s St. Joseph’s night, one of the nights in New Orleans that the Black Masking Indians don their suites and hit the streets.
We’re with David Montana of the Washitaw Nation while they’re getting ready for tonight!
"If I could put my finger on it, I'd bottle it and sell it...it just flipped me. Someone suggested that there's an incomplete part of our chromosomes that gets repaired or found when we hit New Orleans. Some of us just belong here." - John Goodman

He wasn’t a New Orleanian, but he loved NOLA and we loved him right back. He began his music career in the French Quarter, was a huge fan of the

& performed many

sets. We will miss him.
Thinking of Jimmy’s family & raising a margarita in his honor today.
On behalf of the New Orleans Saints, we send our thoughts and prayers to Jimmy Buffett's family, friends and fans
He was an iconic performer, a true Saints fan, a dear friend of New Orleans, and the life of the party
Jimmy will be dearly missed but celebrated forever 🙏

The vibrant streets of New Orleans often seem more like a technicolor dream than real life. We wouldn't change it for anything!

Red beans and rice is a New Orleans tradition that dates back to the days when Monday was the designated “wash day.” Every Monday, New Orleanians would let their red beans simmer for hours while they took care of all the laundry:

Spotted, striped, purebred, mixed-breed. And one unifying factor: costumes. The Mystic Krewe of Barkus Parade winds through NOLA, & the only thing better than a parade of dogs in costumes is this year’s theme. “Game of Bones: Barkus Marks Its Territory.”

We heard that! There's nothing quite like a wedding second line! MT

‘Twas the night before Christmas, in dear New Orleans,
All street music was silent, and no tourists were seen.
The streetcars were nestled by St. Charles with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...

Our hearts are with our neighbors in SW Louisiana and SE Texas as they endure the devastation from Hurricane Laura. It's a loss that we unfortunately know all too well. Just as you've been there for us, know that we stand with you and are here for you.
Purple, green, gold. Justice, faith, and power. The signature colors of Mardi Gras are more than just colors: they’re symbols of everything we stand for. And they happen to look really beautiful together all over the city.
