Every year in Metro Vancouver, car crashes kill 100 people. We could get to zero if governments designed transportation systems to put safety first.

In today's council reports on "Slower, Safer Streets" @BrianVMontague just claimed speed bumps make streets more dangerous because drivers often speed up to 100km/h to avoid them. I think he just told us a lot about how HE drives. But of course this claim is complete bull-š©.

It happened again.

The Ridge Meadows RCMP is on the scene along Lougheed Highway Wednesday morning after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
We've covered this area multiple times, and now 2 more pedestrians have been hit (condition unknown) on the exact same stretch of Lougheed. When will @YourMapleRidge decide enough is enough? How many people need to die? This WILL happen again.

Hi Peter, please see our commentary on a recent incident where a cyclist took the entire lane and paid the price. And let us know if we can work together to make bikeways safer! We have many ideas.
@Patmeister @MLedgerLomas Worked at UBC for eight years and biked to work every summer. Cyclists take the entire lane.

Disappointing to see a missed opportunity here. Why didnāt @CityofVancouver add curb bulbs to shorten crossing distances while repaving in front of an elementary schoolāa known hotspot for illegal parking and unsafe crossings? Hope the crosswalk markings return soon, at least.
It was wonderful @CityofVancouver to ride along the recently repave section of 10th Ave on the south side of Laura Secord Elementary School. I hope the full crosswalk markings will be added soon to this raised crosswalk. #RoadSafety is important @VSB39 @WeAreHub @VisionZeroYVR

We happen to agree, which is why a vote for ABC is a mistake. They have made our streets more dangerous. @Lucyincanada understands the importance of road safety when it comes to broader public safety, and that's why she has our full support.
