3/ a month ago they “chased” someone who was reporting them to the police. And bit by bit, in this part of their patch, confidence ebbs away in the Met.

2/2 but no sign of any police follow up eg talking to victims. One person who called says they were told off. In local WhatsApp group real resignation that cops aren’t interested, and the suspects continue to operate in broad daylight as they please.

1/2Has the Met police given up on catching phone snatchers on bikes? I only ask as a couple are riding around now, masks on etc, in the Downhills park area, South Tottenham . It’s been a problem for a month. Numerous thefts and attempted thefts. Locals have repeatedly reported it.

Maybe we should or shouldn’t be told the ethnicity or shoe size of suspects. But surely we can see the risk assessment and how rehabilitated this chap was assessed to be before he was released half way through his sentence for an earlier savage attack ?
