I have long bemoaned the hysteria around rugby bosses wanting to make rugby something it simply cannot be — safe. Players who pursue rugby as a career & get paid millions a year to do so know the risk. If they wanted a career in touch rugby, that is what they should have chosen

I agree with John. In my case played 20 years and believe my body in better shape than most 45 year olds not training at all....
Love the game with all its risks!!
John Smit: My body is falling to pieces. My shoulders & knees are a mess. I can only turn so far because of my fused neck. But if you gave me that choice to go back 20 years or 30 years, I would still pick that ball up & carry on playing.
