I was very moved by the words spoken by the Padre from an original thanksgiving service from 1945 and him talking about the important work he does today. It’s important to remember the sacrifices of those that served in WWII and those that continue to serve today.

A city for veterans 🎖 Our leader Cllr Karen Kilgour and her Cabinet were proud to have supported the opening of the Kenton Veteran's Hub this morning and be part of a fantastic day for Newcastle. We respect all those who served in our military - thank you for your service 🖤

Due to strong gusty winds and a yellow weather warning from the Met Office, we've had to cancel this evening’s New Year’s Eve fireworks on the Quayside at 6pm and midnight. Safety is our priority, and we thank you for understanding. We wish you all a very safe and happy New Year.
