Parents have extensive school choice in Iowa, due to unlimited open enrollment at any time, and state scholarship support of private school tuition. Iowa is ranked 9th out of 50 states in the nation in school choice by the Heritage Foundation’s. Stand strong for public education!
Council Bluffs parents have great choices already...open enrollment, in-district transfers, private schools & homeschooling. So proud that parents of 9,000+ students CHOOSE to be educated in our district to benefit from the immense Opportunities!

No matter which party you align with, tomorrow we will witness history. Tomorrow, Kamala Harris will be the first woman sworn in as vice president of the United States. Think about that for a moment & what it means for women.

Class of ‘20: I share your disappointment about prom being cancelled. The decision was made just in case we would not be back in school by then, or still have restrictions on gatherings. The principals will find a way to celebrate you and end your senior year on a positive note.
Congratulations to our district's 2020 Support Staff Member of the Year, Lynette Petersen, Hoover Elem School Administrative Manager (SAM)! She will be recognized by the Board of Education and partner
