Please remember me. I know that I've never been a pleasant person - but I hope that I've been useful or at least entertaining. Even if I have only managed to annoy you tremendously - please remember me.

Anyway, it's been quite a trip. I've achieved things that 95% of the people can only dream of (while failing to achieve things that 95% of the people achieve without even trying hard) - and seen it all crashing down in flames, albeit not due to a fault of my own.

Hello folks, Today's my birthday (0x41 years old, yikes!) and since it's very likely going to be my last one, I've decided to post this. I can't be assed to chop it into parts and format it for the various social networks I'm on. I've put it on a web page and am posting a link.

The last 10 minutes or so are the Q&A session; some of the questions are in Bulgarian but I tried to translate them before answering. Link:

A recording of my lecture "Should Paying Off Ransomware Be Illegal?" is now publicly available on YouTube. Ignore the first minute and a half of chatter in Bulgarian - that's my boss introducing me. The lecture itself is in English. Apologies for my awful accent. 😀

This lecture will examine the implications of doing so, the historical examples of such laws in the past, whether they have worked to stop the criminals and how they could make the situation worse by causing more harm than good.

Ransomware has become a global problem that is affecting businesses worldwide and is costing billions of dollars in damages. In an attempt to stem the profitability of ransomware for the criminals, some governments are considering the legal prohibition of the payment of ransoms.

We'll try to record the lecture and make it available later - but for now there is no concrete information on this subject, so no promises. You'll be able to join the Zoom meeting via the following link: https://t.co/n5DLcGm3mJ Short description of the lecture:

Attending via Zoom is free and requires no registration. However, be advised that our Zoom account supports only up to 100 participants in a meeting, so if you're late, you might not be able to join (assuming there is enough interest in this subject).

Fuck, the old TweetDeck is gone again. The new one is unusable and will probably turn to a paid feature in a day or two anyway. Guess it's bye-bye time for me again... :-(
