He had a permit to carry He was legally exercising his 2nd Amendment right. He did not draw the weapon. He was filming when they approached him. They had taken his weapon from its holster before they shot him. It was murder.
BREAKING: The Minneapolis Police Chief says of the shooting victim: "Based on the information that we have, which is very limited, this is a 37-year-old white male who is a Minneapolis resident." He adds: "We believe he is a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry."

The amount of tear gas and flash bangs they've been throwing is making my fucking stomach turn. These are American citizens out demonstrating their right to peaceful assembly and they're being fucking brutalized.

Here's a live stream of the current events in Minneapolis. People need to see. My heart goes out to my fellow Minnesotans standing strong.

So I guess this MMO just kind of scratches exactly the itch I was looking for. A fun game world to explore, with the added benefit of being absolutely gigantic in scale and of a world that I'm already a huge fan of. Cool game when you just take it for what it is.

Anyways, I think I played like a few days of LOTRO back around when it came out, but I never got into it. Getting to experience it now, however, makes me realize that while it's a bit of a newer MMO comparatively, you can really feel the footprint the old games left on LOTRO.

I've always had a fascination with the MMOs I never wound up playing, and while some are really tough to get into as an adult, I absolutely love just exploring those older worlds. It's less about the gameplay, and more just exploring and sightseeing. Soaking it all in.

Despite getting into MMOs in like... 2001 with the original Runescape, I actually wound up missing a lot of the popular MMOs back then. I went from Runescape, to WoW, XI, and SWG and didn't play many of the other golden age MMOs like EQ or DAoC.

I committed to getting over the initial slump of starting LOTRO and I kinda love every minute now. Little slow to get around, and it plays super clunky, but just taking that time to immerse in being in Middle Earth has been pretty neat.

Anyone else have a huge issue with resubbing to an MMO, only to realize a day or two later that you really don't actually want to play it and just tossed $15 on the fire for no reason?

Honestly, I really just wish that SoD had survived in the same way Era did. It's a tragedy. I don't think I've had more fun playing an MMORPG in recent memory than I did with SoD. It was a fantastic experience across the board, and scratched all the right itches.

I tried the original EQ recently, but it just didn't land for me. ESO's combat is a non-starter for me right out the gate. I feel like I should absolutely love LOTR all things considered, but I also never was able to really get into it, and that's before the nightmarish UI issues

I'm a few expansions behind on GW2, and I'm not super keen on dropping $50 for two expansions when I know I probably won't get through both of them, let alone one. Everything else on my list is just kind of something I don't think I'd ever imagine finding my footing in again.

XIV is XIV, and while my sub is just perpetually active, there's just nothing I want to do in-game. XI is similar to OSRS for me in that I'm at a wall that I don't have the energy to commit to getting past.

I'd thought about dipping back into OSRS, but I more or less hit a wall the last time I played and I know I probably won't have the desire to climb over it. Zero interest in classic WoW TBC or era, and they killed SoD which was the one thing I actually enjoyed.

Well, I managed to stave it off for awhile, but looks like it's right back to wishing I had an MMORPG to dig into, but absolutely nothing feels appealing.

Once again, I'm totally blown away by the response to the new world. Thank you all so much for visiting! I always get so in my head prior to a world launch and start to worry if it's good enough, and these last two have just floored me both times. It really means a lot.
