This is 3 months of live poker. Winning 3 bb/100. Even as a winner, ~40% chance of being down. This is the reality for most small winners. To beat variance, your #1 priority is to improve your game. Put ego aside. You need to get serious or you'll never escape variance.

Biggest misconception in poker: People think the strategic part is the hardest. It’s not. The hardest part is the mental game. Breakeven for months, uncertainty, doubting yourself. If you master your mental game, you have the potential to achieve everything.

9/ Use a solver as a tool to build a foundation and deep understanding. Try to understand, not memorize. Learn concepts and build strong heuristics and a solid default strategy. From here we deviate when spot mistakes.

4/ Invest in your mental game. It’s the most underrated skill in poker. Learn to manage your emotions, survive downswings without dropping into C-game, and enjoy poker even when you’re not winning. That’s all mental work, and it’s worth it. Many great books and videos cover this
