5/ What we need from you: Native speakers: Help us validate examples Researchers: Test it, tell us what works and what does not Linguists: Identify cultural gaps and errors Contributors: Help us build version 2.0 This dataset gets better when the community improves it.

4/ Our vision for the community: We are releasing this to: → Give researchers something to build on immediately → Establish a foundation the community can validate and improve → Invite collaboration with native speakers → Work toward version 2.0 with human validation

3/ What this is (and is not): This is version 1.0. A bootstrapping tool, not a gold standard. The dataset contains LLM-generated reasoning examples. We are transparent that synthetic data may not capture authentic cultural reasoning patterns and carries potential biases.

2/ Why synthetic? Quality reasoning datasets for African languages are scarce. Human annotation by native speakers is expensive, time-intensive + difficult to scale. The choice: wait years for perfect data or release something now that researchers can use. We chose pragmatism.

1/ The languages: አማርኛ (Amharic) ChiShona Hausa Igbo Kinyarwanda IsiXhosa IsiZulu Kiswahili Tunisian Arabic Yorùbá 400+ million speakers represented. Mathematical reasoning. Logic puzzles. Multi-step problem solving.
