The Renewable Energy Standard and Pollinator Protection Act passed overwhelmingly during yesterday's veto override session, but the data privacy bill (H.121) fell short of the votes needed. We'll be back next session to keep pushing for comprehensive data privacy for Vermonters.

We cannot make real progress tackling the climate crisis without the biggest polluters doing their part. This is a step in the right direction toward protecting our state and entire planet from even further damage.
Vermont has become the first state to enact a law requiring fossil fuel companies to pay a share of the damage caused by climate change after the state suffered catastrophic summer flooding and damage from other extreme weather.

Right now VTers' web searches, online purchases & location check-ins are harvested, bought & sold completely legally. That unchecked spread of our information exposes consumers to many threats like scams, identity theft, harassment and discrimination. H.121 begins to change that.
