Fun note in reporting this story that was news to this Ventura County newcomer: Camarillo AD Mary Perez, a Rio Mesa alum, and Rio Mesa coach Jim Bittner, a Cam alum, are siblings. Asked him about it postgame. “I’ll hear about this one for a while,” Bittner said with a laugh.

Chargers picking up steam… beat The Star’s No. 4-ranked program in straight sets last night at home.

This comes in the same offseason that stars Delaney White, Karisma Lewis and Mathis Dritz also switched schools, with two leaving the county. Is this the biggest single-year talent drain for Ventura County 🏀, ever? Lots of opportunities for new players to make their mark.

Freshman sensation Charlie Adams has transferred to Cleveland High from St. Bonaventure. Cleveland beat Bonnie 73-62 in the 1st round of last year's state playoffs. Adams led the Seraphs in scoring last season at 19.7 PPG. Another big offseason loss for Ventura County hoops.
