A heartfelt thank you to Daytona State College for welcoming Volusia Schools students to the Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series. The event featured an inspiring presentation by Erik Libby, founder of To-Do Dudes. More than 200 of our students attended.

Thank you to Crystal & Simone from eDynamic Learning for providing members of our CTE team with a presentation on using their Digital CTE Curriculum and the Learning Blade Catalog that was written into legislation as a free curriculum resource for our teachers.

Atlantic High's TESA (Academy of Technology Engineering Science & Aerospace) recent CAP guest speaker series and robotics & programming project. Students are exposed to concepts, ideas, and careers within the aerospace industry.

We recently held our 'Welcome Back' events at University & Spruce Creek High for their in campus Launch CU branches! Academy of Finance students work in the branch with Launch CU staff during lunch and each year we celebrate with cookies for faculty & staff. Thank you, Launch CU!

Ormond Beach Middle School students in their Information & Communications Technology Essentials course. On this visit, their teacher Ms. Talton teaching students about operating systems & computer networks and will eventually learn basic programming and use of software platforms.

Southwestern Middle School has a new CTE offering for the 2025/26 school year...Computer Applications for Business! On this visit, their teacher Mrs. Kepler was providing instruction on formatting & creating an effective letter using word processing software.

First day of school and we started the morning with a back-to-school press conference at DeLand High School celebrating our district’s “A” rating. The rating, a reflection of the hard work of our students, teachers, staff, school board members, community, and families. Congrats!

It was great meeting our new CTE teachers at the VCS New Teacher Academy pre-service held at Mainland High! We were able to share best practices & content resources. Great job to our NTA team & congrats to our new teachers and wishing you all an amazing 2025-2026 school year!

CTE staff throughout the district attended the 59th Annual FACTE Conference in Orlando this week. Great collaboration, comradery, content sessions, and a student scholarship fundraising event were just a few things experienced this week. Charged and ready for the new school year!

Demo & buildout of the Pine Ridge High School's Launch Credit Union branch started last week. Academy of Finance students will interview & be selected to work in the branch and complete paid internships over summer break. Thank you Launch Credit Union for all that you do for VCS!
