If your partner asks for or sends unwanted sexual content (“sexting”) or threatens you with what you sent, they’re acting abusively. Also, sexting can have legal consequences! Any nude photos or videos of someone under the age of 18 could be considered child pornography.

If your partner texts you too much, it can not only be irritating but also unhealthy. Constant contact can be a sign of controlling behavior. Using texts to monitor where you are, who you’re with, or what you’re doing is a warning sign of abuse. #udvc #dvisallourbusiness

Pretty much everything we do can now be done on the Internet, including accessing information, keeping in touch with others, & getting help when we need it. Unfortunately, this means abusive partners have more ways than ever to access your information & monitor your movements.

Abusive actions should never be written off as “normal.” No matter the situation, everybody deserves to be in a healthy relationship free from all types of violence. Abuse is happening in a relationship when one partner is: #udvc #dvisallourbusiness

Just because there’s no physical abuse in your relationship doesn’t mean that it’s healthy or that abuse isn’t occurring in other forms. You may be in an unhealthy relationship if your partner is: #udvc #dvisallourbusiness

A healthy partner encourages you to achieve your goals. They don’t resent your accomplishments or make you feel guilty for spending time with other people, and they aren’t excessively jealous. #udvc #dvisallourbusiness

Online abuse is the use of technology (image-based sexual abuse, sextortion, online stalking, or social media harassment) to bully stalk, intimidate, or control a partner. This behavior is often a form of emotional abuse. #udvc #dvisallourbusiness

Sexual abuse is when a partner controls the physical and sexual intimacy in a relationship. This often involves sexual activity that is non-consensual. Young people might feel pressured by their partner or their social circle to take a relationship to a physical level.

Teens & young adults report that emotional abuse is common in their relationships or their friends' relationships. These behaviors are often more subtle & difficult to identify but are just as serious as other types of abuse.#udvc #dvisallourbusiness
